Supreme Court Rules Post-9/11 Detainees Can’t Sue Top U.S. Officials
The Supreme Court ruled Monday that officials of the George W. Bush administration cannot be sued over the treatment of detainees rounded up in New York after the terror attacks of September 2001. A 4-2 majority thought the Justice Department and the FBI should be immune in this case, even if the detainees were in fact abused.
